The Pinion is placed into its operating position by placing a selective shim between the Inner (head) Bearing and the Pinion. DT-52758 is used with components from previously essential J-39425 and J-44416 Pinion shim selection kits to deTermine the thickness of the required shim for the 11.5” and 12.0” Rear Axles used in MY 2020 Silverado and Sierra 2500/3500 HD trucks. DT-52758 includes new Side Bearing discs to Support the center arbor, and a Gauge Plate and Centering washer Assembly. The Gauge Plate in DT-52758 is stepped to fit both the 11.5” and 12.0” Axles, and has a Centering feature at the bottom to keep the Gauge Plate centered in the Inner Pinion Bearing. Unapproved methods may result in an incorrect shim, causing less than designed service life.
