Application: 2010-current ATS, CTS, Camaro with 3.6L V6 Engine and manual Transmission; 2011-current Buick Regal with 2.0L-T and manual Transmission ?here is no Pilot Bearing in the Crank Shaft of many newer Engines.?Normally the Input Shaft of a manual Transmission has a small diameter nose that fits into the Pilot Bearing to Support the Front End of Input Shaft.?Due to the internal Bearing layout of the newer manual Transmissions, the Input Shaft is sufficiently Supported which eliminates the need for Support at the Crank Shaft.?without the Pilot Bearing, traditional Alignment Arbors will not work as they fit too loosely in the Crank Shaft to allow concentric Alignment of the Clutch.?An on-car review showed a Universal tapered Cone may not fit securely into the internal Clutch ID so may not correctly align the Clutch.?
This Misalignment would not be known when the Pressure plate is reInstalled.?It would be realized when the attempt is made to Install the Trans through the Clutch Assembly and start the Trans attachment Bolts.?At that point the Trans and Pressure plate would need to be removed again and the Alignment reattempted.?DT-50194 has the correct diameters to fit into the Crank Shaft Bore and the Clutch spLine minor ID for perfect Alignment.
