Dealership technicians are required to "smoke Test" VOLT battery Packs with the J-41413-A Evap Cart/Smoke Machine. Smoke Testing is required each time the cover is removed, to ensure watertight integrity and detect any Leaks at the cover-to-Tray Sealing surface. The BBDU electrical Connectors must be Plugged during the smoke Test. Plug kits were developed for both the Gen 1 VOLT and the Spark-BEV. The two Low Voltage Connectors on the Gen 2 VOLT BBDU are common with Gen 1, so tHose Plugs can be reused. New Plugs will be required for the reMaining high voltage Connectors (TPIM, ACCM, CHCM and APM/OBCM). While the TPIM Connector is unique, the reMaining three are common, with the exception of keying. It is hoped that a common Plug can be developed for three similar Connectors. One of the 3 common Plugs will have the Smoke Machine connection port.
