EN-42385-900 is used to Repair head Bolt threads, when damaged, to prevent having to replace the Engine Block, or complete Engine Assembly. In order to Repair head Bolt threads, the head Bolt Bore must be drilled to a specific size and depth, and then tapped at the correct depth to Install the Repair insert into the same position as the original head Bolt thread. EN-42385-900 contains a new drill, tap, Driver, insert Package, and a Torque plate to center the existing drill Bushing J-42385-307 and Alignment Pin J-42385-308, ensuRing the Repair is done in the original position, and preVenting damage to the cooling jacket. The Torque plate is Retained in the other three Holes with existing J-42385-510 Bolts.Timesert inserts are not included in the GM Loan Tool Program Tools, and must be obtained locally by the borrowing dealer.
