Kent Moore Tools EN-48108 | GM Rear Main Seal Installer

The Rear Main Seal is shipped on a Nylon disc to prevent damage to the Inner lip. Removing the Seal from this disc and Installing on existing Seal Installer J-34686 can damage the Inner Seal lip. EN-48108 has a Pilot that attaches to the back of the Crank Shaft, and the sael and disc Assembly is placed onto this Pilot. The Installer portion of EN-48108 is placed over the Pilot Stud, and its Bolt and thrust washer are tightened to draw the Seal into its designed position. Unapproved Installation methods will damage or mis-position the Seal, resulting in less than optimal Seal life.
