DT-49743 is used with previously essential Tool DT-47779 to compress the low and reverse Clutch Spring in the 6L80/6L90 Transmission. The Adapter ensures the Compression Loads are evenly distributed on the low Clutch sprag, Instead of on the Retainer Plate. Using only DT-47779 could cause damage to the Retainer Plate by causing it to bEnd and deform. DT-49743 fits over the End of DT-47779
