The Planishing Hammer frame is constructed of 3" x 2" x .250" wall rectangular steel tubing, triple gusseted to prevent deflection or movement with continuous welds at every joint to provide strength and rigidity. While most planishing hammers use a riveting type hammer, this unit uses a specially designed American made reciprocating cylinder manufactured exclusively for planishing (patent pending), operating on standard shop air with thumbscrew control.(optional foot pedal also available) The conveniently located adjustable flow control valve provides the proper BPM needed to achieve excellent results while crowning, shrinking, flattening or forming. The adjustable yoke can be adjusted and locked, to accommodate any material thickness, on a precision acme thread lead screw with a comfortable hand wheel. Unit is equipped complete with hardened steel hammer head and five forming dies (Crowning, Shrinking, Flattening and two (2) Forming). Combine this unit with the Universal Base (NCT5010) for a solid and stable foundation which is critical during planishing and forming. Made completely in USA and carries a two-year manufacturer’s defect warranty. |
